GLOOFA Packaging and Structure Design
Abstract
The design of sustainable packaging is becoming increasingly important in response to the environmental impact of consumer products. This research focuses on the packaging design of Gloofa, a natural bath sponge brand made from dried loofah (gambas). The aim is to create a packaging solution that not only protects and promotes the product, but also communicates values of wellness and environmental awareness. Using a design thinking approach and user-centered design method, the study analyzes target audience behavior, sustainability trends, and aesthetic preferences. The research also explores the integration of visual identity, typography, material selection, and sustainable branding strategies. Findings indicate that effective storytelling and minimalist yet elegant design can strengthen product appeal, particularly among younger consumers who prioritize natural skincare and eco-conscious living. This project contributes to the field of sustainable design by offering a replicable model for natural product branding, combining tradition, self-care, and ecological responsibility into a cohesive visual communication system.
