https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1217

Reproductive health is one of the most important aspects in the lives of women of reproductive age. Many diseases threaten reproductive health and potentially havefatal consequences, such as infertility and sterility, and endometriosis is one of them. Endometriosis is a condition where the endometrial tissue grows outside ofthe uterine cavity. This disease has various symptoms, its cause is still unknown, therefore current available treatment only addresses the symptoms. In Indonesia, delayed diagnosis of endometriosis is quite common due to low knowledge of the disease. To investigate this, the author used a mixed-methods research approach using questionnaires, interviews with 6 menstruating women of reproductive age, interviews with obstetrics and gynecology specialist, an interview with the founder of the Endometriosis Indonesia Community, and interviews with 2 men who are married and have wives with endometriosis. The research results revealed that the majority of young women and married men are unaware of what endometriosis is,and educational media on this subject is urgently needed. Another issue found was the presence of misinformation, stigma, and especially the normalization of endometriosis symptoms, especially menstrual pain, which hinders proper treatment of the condition. Therefore, an interactive website was designed to provide educational information about endometriosis. The design will be based on the Design Thinking Model by Robin Landa and analyzed in the end based on design principle theory. Hopefully, the website design is able to effectively educate the target audience about endometriosis.
Kathleen Manilova Tedja

In today's society, many believe that being overweight is something to be accepted rather than addressed, often in the name of self-love. However, our initiative encourages individuals to embrace true self-love by taking steps to improve their health through engaging challenges in our app. Targeting young urban women aged 17-24 who are interested in fashion and may misunderstand body positivity, our campaign provides motivation to take action toward a healthier lifestyle. We utilize social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube for digital outreach while also organizing offline workshops and festivals. Our campaign runs from January 4 to March 6, aligning with the spirit of new beginnings. A key highlight is our 30-day challenge program, where users complete daily quests to earn points, with top participants receiving rewards at our festival. By combining motivation with gamification, we help individuals take the first step in prioritizing their well-being.
Putu Ari SastraOwen MontanaCelica .

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1236

Hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) is a contagious illness that primarily affects children under the age of 10. It is characterized by the appearance of vesicles or rashes on the palms, soles, and oral mucosa, which can lead to discomfort and difficulty swallowing. The trend of HFMD cases has been increasing in Indonesia from 2021 to 2024. Health authorities have disseminated information on HFMD prevention. However, the effectiveness of these efforts has been assessed as low due to suboptimal frequency and visual hierarchy in the media. To date, there has been no campaign in Indonesia specifically focused on preventing HFMD.This research aims to persuade parents to understand preventive measures to curb the spread of HFMD among children. Interview results indicate that parents' understanding of HFMD remains basic and general, highlighting the need for persuasive education to provide a comprehensive understanding of HFMD and its preventive steps. This health campaign is designed to encourage parents to educate themselves and others about preventing the spread of HFMD among children in the future.
Karina Anabelle Putri Yusman

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1237

According to Christian teachings, peace is both a gift and a responsibility given by God. Peace is a crucial concept for humans to have in order to navigate the challenges of life. One problem faced by many is academic stress, particularly among children aged 9-12. Academic exams are a common source of this stress, which can hinder a child's overall development. However, the existing information on cultivating inner peace in Christ during times of anxiety is often presented in language that is difficult for children to understand. This study uses observation, interviews, questionnaires, and focus group discussions to gather data for the design of an illustrated book. Haslam's (2006) Book Design methodology was utilized to create a resource aimed at helping children experiencing exam anxiety to cultivate and experience inner peace in Christ.
Joyce Elnissi Chandra

GERD Anxiety is a digestive disorder triggered by anxiety, causing stomach acid to rise into the esophagus and affecting the quality of life of those who experience it. A lack of understanding, particularly among young adults in their productive years with busy schedules, makes them more susceptible to anxiety and increases the risk of physical and mental health imbalances. This study aims to design an interactive informational medium in the form of a board game to help increase awareness and understanding of GERD Anxiety among young adults aged 18-24. The design method used is Playcentric, consisting of the stages of ideation, prototyping, playtesting, and evaluation. Data collection was conducted through interviews, questionnaires, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). One of the challenges faced by young adults in recognizing GERD Anxiety is the lack of engaging and interactive educational media. Therefore, the author designed a board game that presents information about GERD Anxiety in a way that aligns with the preferences of the target audience. This board game is expected to raise awareness among young adults about the importance of prevention and management of GERD Anxiety in an easily comprehensible manner.
Tania Adeline

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1293

Air Traffic Controller (ATC) is a profession whose job is to guide air traffic. ATC plays an important role in aviation safety. Unfortunately, the ATC profession is still rarely known by Indonesian people, including teenagers. In fact, without the role of ATC, safety in the world of aviation will not be achieved. Aviation safety is the most important thing that must be prioritized in the world of aviation. As time progresses, relevant media is needed to introduce the ATC profession. So, it is necessary to design a board game to introduce the ATC profession to teenagers who are the nation's next generation. Board games have the benefit of providing an interesting learning experience, helping to hone communication skills, and sharpening thinking skills. Board games can also educate teenagers about basic knowledge about ATC, namely what things ATC must master and know.
The cosmetic industry in Indonesia has been growing significantly over the years, with more companies entering the market. Amidst this growth, Viva Cosmetics is known to be one of the well-known local cosmetic brands among Indonesian women. Viva Cosmetics is the first local cosmetic brand with the label "Made in Indonesia" which offers a variety of beauty products for tropical skin. However, Viva Cosmetic's visual identity has not had any changes since it was first established in 1962. This leads to a problem where Viva Cosmetics is often perceived as a cosmetic brand only suitable for the older generations. Therefore, the author undertakes a visual identity redesign for Viva Cosmetics. The data collection method used in this research include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. This redesign process is guided by the theory of visual identity design outlined in Wheeler & Meyerso's book "Designing Brand Identity" (2024). Through this visual identity redesign, the aim is to help Viva Cosmetics adapt and stay relevant in today's modern trends.
Venny Venny

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1296

The busy nature of Jakarta's urban population often lead them to prioritize personal interests without considering their surroundings. This can be observed in the way they use MRT priority facilities, especially when these facilities aren't currently being used by anyone. However, when these facilities are needed by wheelchair users, people tend to lack the initiative to offer them up unless prompted by MRT staff. Some of the priority facilities in question include designated areas for wheelchair users, priority restrooms, priority lifts, and others, all meant for those in need. This is concerning, as it hinders the journey of wheelchair users who choose to use public transportation such as MRT, either by preventing them from using these facilities or forcing them to seek alternatives that could be unsafe or take up more time. Therefore, delivering a social message for the public to take the initiative in prioritizing wheelchair users when using these facilities is very important. The design method used in this design project was Human-Centered Design with AISAS as medias strategy. The final outcome of this design is an interactive social campaign to prioritize the use of MRT disability facilities for wheelchair users among the public.
Jessica Andriani

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1297

The consumption of spicy foods in Indonesian society, particularly among adolescents, has become a part of daily eating culture, as exemplified by the prevalence of sambal and the continuous emergence of spicy food trends. Excessive consumption of spicy foods has the potential to trigger digestive disorders such as dyspepsia. Dyspepsia is characterized by poor digestive function with symptoms including epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and a feeling of fullness. These symptoms can disrupt productivity and pose long-term health risks. However, there are still adolescents who consume excessive amounts of spicy food despite being aware of its risks, which can hinder productivity. To address this issue, this study aims to design a campaign using visual strategies and persuasive messaging targeted at adolescents aged 15-19 years, to raise awareness about moderating spicy food intake to prevent dyspepsia. Data collection in this study employed a mixed-methods approach, involving expert interviews, surveys, analysis of existing studies, and reference studies. The campaign design method follows Landa's (2019) Five-Phase Model of the Design Process, which includes research, analysis, concept, design, and implementation. The outcome of this design will be a social media campaign aimed at changing the consumption behavior of spicy foods among teenagers to prevent dyspepsia.
Kania Wulandari

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1299

Fire emergency cases happening in Indonesia has been increasing annually from 2018 to 2023. In 2023, the amount of cases reported reached a new record high. This shows that in Indonesia, the risk of fire emergency is becoming more apparent. Indonesia also hosts universities with campuses classified as tall buildings, these classification of buildings require a more complex fire evacuation procedure. According to a survey spread to respondents of university students in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area, the existing educational contents on fire emergency procedures are considered to be uninteresting. From the presented problem, a simulation game on tall building fire evacuation procedures will be designed. The game was designed with the human-centered design method which consists of three stages namely inspiration, ideation, and implementation. In the inspiration stage, research on the audience demographic consisting of university students in the Jakarta Metropolitan Area, and research on fire evacuation procedures are done. The data extraction techniques used in this stage are questionnaire survey, focus group discussion, expert interviews, existing studies, and literature studies. In the next stages, the game is then developed. The development process was done using Unity, Blender, Krita, and Visual Studio Code. Beta testing is then done to assess the game’s quality and effectiveness. In conclusion, it is found that a simulation game has the potential to be a more interesting alternative media for fire emergency education to university students, but the difficulty that lies in video games can also potentially hinder the audience from fully learning evacuation procedures.
Mohamad Naufal

https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1257

Rhesus incompatibility is a phenomenon that occurs when there is a difference in rhesus type between a mother with a negative rhesus and a fetus with a positive rhesus. Rhesus incompatibility can cause Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn, which includes various blood disorders in infants and may result in death. The percentage of individuals with a negative rhesus type in Indonesia is only 1% of the total population, making it classified as a rare blood type. Understanding one's rhesus type is crucial to prevent adverse outcomes in the event of medical complications that require blood transfusions. The limited discussion on rhesus incompatibility in the media is one of the contributing factors to the lack of awareness among individuals with a negative rhesus type regarding the risks associated with rhesus incompatibility in pregnancy. This knowledge is essential before planning a pregnancy to prevent health issues in newborns. Based on this issue, there is a need for the informational media on rhesus incompatibility in pregnancy. The goal is to educate women with a negative rhesus type in preparing for pregnancy and preventing the adverse effects of rhesus incompatibility. The design method used is the Design Thinking approach, which includes the stages of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Testing. https://proceeding.umn.ac.id/index.php/CATALOGUE-IMDES/article/view/1262

Indonesia, as a tropical archipelago with high marine biodiversity, possesses coral reefs that harbor thousands of species. However, more than 36% of coral reefs in Indonesia have been damaged due to climate change, pollution, and human activities. This damage not only impacts marine ecosystems but also the economy and human welfare, as coral reefs provide coastal protection, support tourism, and serve as a source of food for fisheries. Despite this, previous research has shown that knowledge and awareness among the public, especially the younger generation, regarding the importance of preserving coral reefs is still quite low. Therefore, this study aims to design an interactive information medium in the form of an interactive illustrated book that is expected to increase students' or children's understanding of coral reef ecosystems, especially in Indonesia. The design method used in this design refers to the theory of children's book creation by Denise I. Matulka. With direct interaction in this medium, it is hoped that students will be more aware and concerned about the importance of preserving coral reefs and their impact on the environment and their lives.
Beatrice Xaviera
